I am a Tennessee native and a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee. Thirty years of teaching elementary students at the Tennessee School for the Deaf in Knoxville followed graduation from college. Never thinking I would teach again once retired, I decided to interpret for a deaf middle school student during her seventh grade year in a Madison County Schools. after moving to Huntsville. It was there, I discovered that middle schoolers are superb with their unique “take” on life. Therefore back into the classroom I went! My ten years at SMS have been challenging but so very rewarding. My husband, Michael, and I have been married for forty five years with three wonderful children and five delightful grandchildren. Our son and one daughter live in this area and the other daughter lives in Franklin, Tennessee. Life is good!
