What is a school nurse? The school nurse is the staff member of your school system who is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of all students. Your school nurse is a licensed registered nurse who has completed an Associate Degree/Bachelor of Science in nursing at an approved college or university.
What are the duties of the school nurse?
Individualized Health Care Plans : Just as the classroom teachers have to establish an educational plan for a student, the school health nurse may have to complete an Individualized Health Plan for designated students where there may be special medical issues involved. Please note forms found on the website addressing special medical needs that need to be completed upon request of the nurse.
