Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

I welcome you to Sparkman Middle School and to another successful school year. As a Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School of Excellence, we are committed to creating a positive school culture where academic excellence can be achieved. Along with your partnership, we will prepare students for success at Sparkman Middle and in the years that follow. We believe that students, parents, and teachers all play a vital role in ensuring that children encounter a highly-engaging educational experience in a safe and nurturing environment.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities that our school has to offer,  including clubs, athletics, library, school spirit days, student council, Rachel’s Challenge, academic teams, choir, and band. We are very proud of our award winning programs and our commitment to community service.  Sparkman Middle was recently awarded with The President's Volunteer Service Award, a very prestigious honor, given to organizations with a strong record of service in their community.

Education is a joint venture between school and home. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities to become involved in your child’s education. Academic progress can be checked regularly via our iNow parent portal and Canvas learning management system. Information about school events is available through our website, online newsletter, and social media pages. Joining our PTO organization is another way that parents can partner with the staff and students of SMS as they embark on this leg of their academic journey.

I am excited and honored to be part of the Sparkman family for what I know will be another wonderful school year. I welcome your questions, concerns, and input at any time. It is a privilege to be your Principal at Sparkman Middle School. Please be involved and support our efforts.

Sincerely,

Ronnie J. Blair

Principal, Sparkman Middle School
